Episode 1

Staffordshire bull terrier-cross Sage is setting up residence with the Fianko family, first-time puppy owners living in south London. While mum Cheryl may have brought up five kids, controlling a boisterous puppy proves trickier than she expected, and expert Louise is called in to help restore some calm.

Border collie Meg has her work cut out for her as she joins Victoria, a 16-year-old novice shepherdess with a big ambition to train her own sheepdog. If juggling lambing season and obedience training isn't hard enough, Victoria must first encourage her pup not to be nervous of sheep.

And there is a big surprise in Salisbury when great dane Shelby joins a young family which already includes Mr Cooper, a three-year-old dachshund. The new pup is keen to be friends, but he will grow to double a dachshund's height in a matter of weeks, and there is no guarantee Mr Cooper will be happy to play along too.

In south London, Sage the Staffordshire bull terrier cross is a massive hit with the Fianko family, with one big exception. Dad Reggie is still reluctant to do his share of puppy care, so mum Cheryl has decided it is time he took some responsibility for the family's newest member.

And in Somerset, border collie Meg and her 16-year-old handler Victoria face their big test. After a month with the family, Victoria must step up Meg's training. Together they have just six weeks to master crucial obedience skills. Can Meg show she has got what it takes to be a working sheep dog on the family farm?

Wild Cards

Wild Cards follows the unlikely duo of a gruff, sardonic cop and a spirited, clever con woman. Ellis, a demoted detective, has unfortunately spent the last year on the maritime unit, while Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. But when Max gets arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Max staying out of jail. The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.
