The Telephone Call
Months have passed. Helen and Phil now have a baby boy. Mike's landscaping business is doing well; but, Laura is back in England having now run away from her boyfriend in Brussels and is again upsetting the lives of everyone from whom she ran in the first place.

In Hiding
Thinking that Laura is in trouble, Mike flies to Brussels to find her. Helen and Phil are beside themselves with frustration at Laura's insensitivity.

Mike's New Girlfriend
Laura decides it is time to move from Helen and Phil's. She goes to Mike's apartment to retrieve the things that she left and starts in with her usual psychotic attitude upon finding Mike's new, younger girlfriend in residence.

A Weekend Away
Upset that Mike now seems to be going out with Elaine, Laura goes to spend the weekend with her parents, Tom and Alice, in the hopes that they can make some sense of the relationship. However, Mike and Elaine quarrel because she realises that he still has feelings for Laura.

Problems
Laura goes hunting for a new flat and Mike insists on going along. Wilfred is being intimidated by his former neighbor who is now a client of the landscaping firm. Terry trades clients with Wilfred which only leads to more trouble. Laura and Mike decide to try and rekindle their romance.

A Romantic Meal
It is resolved that Laura will move back into the apartment and Mike will move out. Mike's attempt to ask Laura a very important question is continually interrupted.

Happy Ever After?
Mike and Laura are more stunned than thrilled about their decision, and the fuss Laura's family makes doesn't help. When the farmhouse slips out of their grasp, the old despair seems poised to take over.
