The show that brings the sun to our sofas. Karl and Sonia from North Yorkshire are making a permanent move to the Charente-Maritime region of France, which is famous for its breathtaking scenery of rolling hills, vineyards and forests, its cognac and its welcoming microclimate. Karl and Sonia are after somewhere big enough for their children and grandchildren to visit, and somewhere where they can also host their wedding. For their budget of £160,000, and a little bit of wiggle room, they want a three-bed property with plenty of space, a big kitchen for baking, a barn and spectacular views. Craig Rowe has his work cut out finding everything on their wish list. But will a curious cottage or a magnificent manor house be a match made in heaven?
