Semir and Vicky have to deal with a criminal organization from Belgium that kidnaps people and tortures them in truck container prisons. The highway inspectors must work with the Belgian police to locate the prisons. When the head of the criminal organization launches a counterattack, Semir and Vicky get caught up in a war that has been going on for years between organized crime and the police in Belgium.

Semir and Vicky have not been able to prove that Miloš and Ivo Savic have sold cocaine. After two attacks on Ivo, the commissioners find the assassin, but Semir shoots him in self-defense. Who is targeting the Savic brothers? Investigations reveal that a militia wants to evict the brothers. But drug lord Miloš strikes back and the inspectors find themselves caught between two unscrupulous parties who are determined to do anything.

Vicky, on the other hand, enjoys life with a new donor kidney and doesn't shy away from any risk at work, which soon puts her in the group's sights. Will the two stop violence against women?

The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.
