It's the start of a new school year and Spencer and Jordan are officially eligible to enter the NFL draft, placing Spencer at the center of the media spotlight. Olivia returns to LA after being changed by her time in London. Layla plans for the opening of her new lounge which will feature Patience's first performance since being stabbed. Elsewhere, Asher and Jaymee navigate their new lives as parents to baby AJ.

As the team heads into their first football game of the season, the media's growing obsession with Spencer begins to take a toll on him. Meanwhile, Olivia opens up to Jordan and Laura about what she's been working on, and Layla and Coop help Patience take back control of her life.
Business is Business
New changes on the field begin to create tension between Spencer and Jordan at the worst possible time. While working on her latest project, Olivia deals with the emotional fallout of digging too deep into the past. Elsewhere, Asher is forced to make a difficult decision after losing one of his star players.
Black Out
After celebrating his 21st birthday, Spencer enlists Coop's help to figure out what happened at his party the night before. Elsewhere, Olivia and Jordan reminisce about their childhood with Billy, and Asher deals with the fallout of a tough decision he's made.
Trust Issues
After having some issues with a new game strategy on the field, Spencer diverts his attention to helping a South Crenshaw High player, who has been struggling with his own issues. A surprise visit by Olivia's BFF Ashley causes some tension between Olivia and Spencer. Elsewhere, Laura guest lectures Coop's law class, and Layla helps Jordan find a new roommate at the beach house.
Connection
After a spontaneous trip to the cabin leaves the Vortex without internet, they decide to spend their time helping Spencer with his latest case studies on relationships. In the process, Spencer and Olivia are forced to deal with their growing issues head-on, while Jordan makes an unexpected discovery about Layla. Finally, Laura reveals some difficult news to Coop about Patience's case against Miko.
Passin' Me By
It's New Year's Eve and Spencer and Olivia are determined to ring in the new year together despite several interruptions; Jordan gets advice on how to navigate a sensitive topic with Layla; Patience is pushed to her limit.
Kids See Ghosts
Laura surprises Olivia, Jordan and Spencer with a special gift from Billy that helps them navigate issues they're each dealing with. Elsewhere, Layla makes a discovery during a therapy session, and Coop prepares Patience for the next step in their case against Miko.

Spencer finds himself struggling at the NFL combine when prospective coaches dig into his past. Jordan convinces Layla to take a day for herself while he handles her first brunch service at the lounge. Elsewhere, Asher receives some unexpected news about Coach Montes, and Olivia's time with Baby AJ gives her some much-needed perspective about her book.

Meanwhile, Olivia unveils her book to her family but worries that no one will show up to her first book signing. As they prepare for their wedding day, Layla admits to Jordan that she's missing her mother's presence. Spencer shifts his focus from the NFL draft to Layla and Jordan's big day. Patience is conflicted after receiving an unexpected opportunity.
