Terra Cotta/Heart Engagement/Rose Panel

The Cake Girls in Chicago get an order from two of their biggest fans for a heart-shaped engagement cake. Given total creative freedom, Brenda takes a stab at making and designing the cake herself, and insists on having the most fragile part of the cake suspended in the air for full effect! Mary's thrilled and excited by Brenda's urge to take on the challenge. Although they don't usually do deliveries, Mary and Brenda make an exception this time and delight the couple by hand-delivering the over-the-top confection directly to the engagement party. At Christopher Garren's Cakes in Orange County, CA, Chris gets an order for a rose panel wedding cake incorporating the couple's red, black and white color scheme. Chris pushes his staff to create an epic pastry that weighs over two hundred and fifty pounds! Complete with intricately painted paneling and rose detail work, the one-of-a-kind cake leaves the couple speechless. When Lauri from NYC's Cake Alchemy receives an order for a terra cotta wedding cake, she's delighted at the chance to create something different than the traditional plain white cake for which so many brides opt. That is, until the bride calls and changes her mind back to the plain white cake. Lauri has no choice but to grin and bear it, re-roll the fondant and deliver the cake her customer wants.
