Episode 1
Moped rider Martin is fighting for his life after a collision with a lorry in London. Doctors are concerned he may have severe head and spinal injuries after the wheel of the lorry pressed against his neck. Also in London, police officer David is diagnosed with a heart attack after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest at the gym. He is taken to Barts Heart Attack Centre for an angiogram and an emergency heart bypass operation, which successfully treats a blockage in his coronary artery. In Northumberland, cyclist Julian comes off his bike with a nasty facial injury. Once in hospital, he begins to deteriorate and suffers a major stroke before undergoing an emergency operation to remove part of his skull and relieve the swelling in his brain. Julian faces a long process of rehabilitation after his injuries.
Episode 2
In Bristol, pedestrian Christy is hit by a car. Doctors suspect she may have bruising to the front and back of her brain, and give her an emergency roadside anaesthetic. In hospital, her brain begins to swell rapidly and she undergoes an emergency operation to remove part of her skull. Christy now faces months of rehabilitation, including a further operation to replace the missing part of her skull.
After being run over by a forklift truck, doctors fear lorry driver Peter has sustained life-changing crush injuries as he cannot move his legs. Concerned he may be bleeding internally, the medical team bind his lower body to keep him rigid. Once in hospital, scans reveal a pelvic fracture. Peter's legs have suffered extensive soft tissue damage which will take some time to heal.
In London, back-seat passenger Jaqueline is involved in serious road traffic collision. Having sustained a severe open skull fracture to her forehead, Jaqueline begins to lose consciousness and clinicians suspect she may be bleeding in her brain. She is rushed to a major trauma centre for emergency scans. Doctors discover the bones of her skull and face have been smashed inwards and require reconstruction by specialist maxillofacial surgeons.
Episode 3
In London, fitness trainer Dusan is in critical condition after being hit by a bus. With potential head, chest and abdominal injuries causing major internal bleeding, the air ambulance team anaesthetise him at the scene. In hospital, Dusan is declared a code red and receives immediate blood transfusions. After chest drains are inserted to help him breath, he is sent for emergency surgery to treat the source of his internal bleeding.
In Gloucestershire, George is involved in a serious horse riding accident which leaves him unable to move. Worried that he may have damaged his spinal cord and his breathing may deteriorate, doctors transfer him to a major trauma centre for detailed scans.
In St Albans, tree surgeon Seb falls from a high ladder onto his back whilst pruning trees. Doctors and paramedics suspect he may be bleeding internally and have internal fractures. Scans reveal several crushed vertebrae and Seb is taken to theatre for spinal surgery.
Episode 4
Michael collapses at work with a suspected cardiac arrest. Doctors and paramedics must try to work out whether a problem with his heart or a brain haemorrhage caused the collapse.
In Newcastle, young mother Gidia is rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds to her neck and chest. Doctors explore the severity of the knife wounds with scans before sending her for emergency surgery to repair them.
In Durham, cyclist Ben is involved in a collision with a bus and is brought to Newcastle's major trauma centre with major internal bleeding.

The Big Fat Quiz
The Big Fat Quiz is an annual British television programme broadcast on the last Sunday of the year on Channel 4. Essentially, the show is a comedy panel show in the style of a pub quiz. Three teams, of two celebrities each, are asked questions relating to the events of the year just gone by, which they write answers to on an electronic board in front of them. At the end of each round, they then display their answers, scoring a point for each correct one. The first edition was broadcast in December 2004. There has been another at the end of each year since, as well as a special edition in November 2007 for Channel 4's 25th anniversary celebrations.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is a spinoff series set in The Walking Dead Universe that centers around the eponymous character. Daryl washes ashore in France, raising the ire of a splintered but growing autocratic movement centered in Paris and endangering a young boy at the heart of a benevolent religious movement.
