Cats, Penguins, Bees and a Big Bird
In this first episode, Deputy Manager Ross picks up a pair of penguins who have missed their flight. There is confusion on the runway as Animal Health Officer Vicky needs to track down some cats. Ten thousand bees create a buzz at feeding time. A team of five huskies cause issues. And Kayleigh ruffles some feathers when she meets a big bird with a dangerous reputation.

Crocs, Crawlies and a Celeb Dog
In this episode, the apprentices get hands-on with a crocodile for the very first time; a rescued street dog from Thailand who is a huge hit on social media is reunited with his owners; deputy manager Ross checks in a shipment of 300 creepy crawlies; supervisor Kayleigh gives vital medication to a pair of asthmatic cats; a worried owner waits to collect her horse from Australia; and animal health officer Stu brings in two hairless dogs.

Baboons, a Blind Dog & a Poorly Pooch
At the Animal Reception Centre at London's Heathrow Airport, supervisor Sian deals with seven hungry baboons from Kuwait. The team are worried when a cat called Tippy arrives in a box that might be too small. A blind dog comes in with an alarming cough. Two cats fly in from Hong Kong for a long awaited reunion. And a Senegal parrot has the team in a flap.

A Stowaway and 96 Alpacas
In this edition, the team have their hands full dealing with 96 alpacas from New Zealand, and a stowaway hermit crab finds itself a long way from home. A large shipment of 50 birds whose flight to the Caribbean has been delayed need to stay overnight, two cats arrive from down under with interesting names, and a little dog from China raises alarm bells with the staff when its paperwork doesn't check out.

A Suspicious Package and a Pair of Ferrets
Heather is concerned about a rescue cat from Dubai having difficulty breathing. Deputy manager Ross spots a suspicious package in a shipment of geckos. An angry dog forces desperate measures to be taken. A pair of frisky ferrets are causing chaos for Becky. A puppy called Bailey has the staff smitten. And a flighty flock of birds need to be released for an overnight stay at the centre.

The Terror

The series is named after Dan Simmons's 2007 novel, which serves as the basis for the first season and is a fictionalized account of Captain Sir John Franklin's lost expedition to the Arctic in 1845–1848.
The second season, subtitled Infamy, bears no relation to the book or first season and is mostly set in an American-run Japanese internment camp during World War II.
