In this fascinating fifth series we cover the huge range of art treasures which go under the hammer every year in London, New York and Paris. From Old Masters, through twentieth-century furniture to classic cars. Among the highlights are Monet's Water Lilies, sold for over £31 million; Guardi's view of Venice, knocked down for nearly £10 million and a traction engine, sold in Cambridgeshire for over £100,000.

A sale of British and Irish art draws bidders to London. Plus, a collection of Lord Raglan's sought-after momentos from the Peninsular War also go under the hammer.

Episode 9
Buyers queue in Paris to get their hands on some 20th-century design. Bidders also flock to a rare antiquities auction in London and an Aston Martin DB5 goes up for sale.

Swedish art sells for record prices in Stockholm. A sale of works by Kees van Dongen shows Normandy's resorts 100 years ago and buyers flock to Sussex for oriental art.
