Summer 1932. It's been a year since Morten gave the hotel to Fie, but she has almost not seen him since, because he is collaborating with Madsen on the construction of a big building project in Copenhagen. But the regulars have made their appearance at the hotel. The family Madsen, Mr. Weyse, Mrs. Fjeldsø and her sister, and Mr. Aurland with his wife and sons, as well as the Frigh family. However, without Mr. Frigh, as the couple is in divorce, so Mrs. Frigh prefers for him to stay away. In the middle of the idyll, the Copenhagen stockbroker August Molin arrives with his Swedish wife, and Weyse is immediately taken by Mrs. Molin.
