C'est la fête à La Madrague, les copains, les musiciens, la tarte tropézienne et le vin rosé... Brigitte danse, retrouve un peu de joie de vivre, et même Jacques qui fait la gueule et le bébé qui pleure ne lui gâcheront pas la soirée ! L'amour maternel, une évidence ? Décidément, Brigitte n'y arrive pas. Elle se concentre sur la préparation de "La Vérité", le choix de son futur partenaire et sa relation ambiguë avec le vénéneux metteur en scène. Jacques, en pleine dépression, fait des allers-retours en clinique, le tournage est pénible. Seul Alain, son homme de confiance et secrétaire dévoué, la réconforte et partage ses moments de solitude. Clouzot se sert des fractures de Brigitte, il est dur et cynique. Sa direction d'acteur, parfois même accompagnée de violences physiques, est à la limite du supportable...
