It's Father's Day at Max's school and he and Arnie are sprucing up for the big event. Arnie is pressed into service by the hotel into sending a young heiress to the airport, and the excitement starts when hoods intercept the car and kidnap the young girl.

The Loser
Johnny gives the police Information about a heroin shipment in return for his release after he is charged with burglary.

The Ledge
A guest threatens to jump from a window of the hotel.

The Rubens
Tonight an insurance agent arrives at the Ansonia with $200,000 to buy back a stolen Rubens, but Arnie learns one of the principals is an imposter.

The Bar Mitzvah
The wife of a wealthy man Is blackmailed because she once appeared in pornographic movies.

The Cover
In tonight's episode, a woman sought by the syndicate risks her life to see her daughter married at the Ansonia.

The Assassin
The Little Shamus overhears a threat to kill someone at the hotel but is unable to interest Arnie or any of his colleagues. They're all more interested in a couple of "scam artists" who have been stealing from the rooms of successful gamblers. The thieves do it the hard way. They wait until their victims take to the beach, creep up and steal room keys, make copies of them in a converted, ice-cream barrow, and then toddle over the boardwalk to do their dastardly deeds in the hotel.
Meanwhile Max, who is searching for his would-be killer, merely lifts the keys from the chambermaid's trolley when he wants to search a room. When he finds a case that contains a guitar and not the rifle expected, he drops the instrument back. (Brian Courtis)

The Fanatics
Stephanie, Jingles and Max accidentally become hostages when two fanatics plan to kill a civil rights leader who is staying at the hotel.
