Bill Bailey hosts as eight aspiring actors are mentored over six weeks by casting director Kelly Valentine Hendry, working on the sets of some of the UK's best-loved dramas. They open up in the world of soaps and are given a baptism of fire as they head to EastEnders, where guest mentor Natalie Cassidy wants to see real emotion on camera as they recreate one of her greatest scenes as Sonia Fowler.

Crime
The aspiring actors arrive on the set of hit drama, Silent Witness, to try and cut it as the forensic hotshot, Dr Nikki Alexander. They're coached by Silent Witness star Genesis Lynea, as they attempt to master difficult scientific language and bring a convincing air of authority to win actor of the week.

Drama
Who wants to be a Peaky Blinder? The aspiring actors head to Birmingham in episode three to battle it out on the set of one of the UK's biggest ever dramas, helped by the show's fight co-ordinator Jason White.
They must show menace. They must show no fear. They must show they are prepared to die. It will end in a flurry of tears, flying fists and bullets. Who will be crowned actor of the week and be one step closer to the showcase? Guest star Charlene McKenna (Laura McKee in Peaky Blinders).

It's a dramatic emergency! The actors' skills are tested on the set of Casualty, and it's much tougher than they expect. Guest star Charles Venn is there to guide them through.
