Britain's Best Parent - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Episode 1
Twelve families with differing parenting styles compete against each other, hoping to prove that their methods and techniques are the right way to raise children. Those taking part in the first episode include Joana, who believes children shouldn't be confined to traditional gender stereotypes and is raising her five-year-old with a gender-fluid approach. Self-titled lazy parents Kevin and Kerry believe that their hands-off style makes their two boys self-sufficient and aware of the consequences of their actions, while Rin and Robin's parenting style is inspired by Eastern culture and philosophy, as they aspire to make `scholar-warriors" of their son and daughter. Presented by Anita Rani.

Episode 2
Anita Rani hosts as families with differing parenting styles compete against one another. Those taking part in this episode include Hannah, who takes a parent-centric approach to bringing up her son, believing that putting parents' needs first will ultimately teach children to become independent and prepare them for adult life. Also competing are Mia and Adam, whose attachment parenting ethos means they prioritise the needs and desires of their daughter and son over their own. Completing this line-up are Nicky and David, who champion a strict parenting style over their three children.

Episode 3
Home-educators Becky and Ben believe that for their three daughters - aged 10, eight and five - learning should not just happen in a classroom but all the time, regardless of location. They go up against Richard and Emily, who follow a regimented parenting style based on a meticulous routine, which includes daily training on a running machine and music lessons for their sons, aged six and five. Completing this week's line up are Andi and Jon, who employ a `structured chaos" approach to bringing up their two sets of twins, aged six and three, and a son aged four. Presented by Anita Rani.

Episode 4
Anita Rani invites the audience to choose between three more sets of parents to decide which couple is raising their children in the best way. Vegans Mark and Simone believe that bringing their five children up on a plant-based diet not only makes them healthier but makes them take responsibility for the planet. They are up against Sophie and Phil - who believe that teaching their two children to be competitive prepares them for the working world - and Jen and Tom, who are teaching their kids about the great outdoors, including lighting fires and whittling sticks.

The Final
Over the past four weeks, 12 couples with widely different parenting styles have competed to prove their way is the best. Now the winning four return to face the ultimate challenge - looking after each other's children overnight and away from home - before returning to the studio to discuss how it went. It's then up to the studio audience to choose which they believe to be the best parenting style - and who deserves to be crowned Britain's Best Parent. Presented by Anita Rani.
