Episode 3

This second heat week sees five more celebrities enter the MasterChef kitchen to undertake three tough culinary challenges in a bid to prove themselves to judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace. Battling for the crown are actor John Partridge, TV personality Spencer Matthews, TV presenter and singer Frankie Bridge, TV presenter Jean Johansson and actress and singer Anita Harris. The first challenge for the five hopefuls is the Mystery Box. The contestants must use the ingredients in the box, which include lamb rump, whole mackerel, mozzarella, aubergine, apricots and filo pastry, to create just one dish in 50 minutes. The celebrities are then split into two groups to take on the challenge of cooking in a restaurant kitchen for the first time, preparing dishes for paying customers. For the final test it's back to the MasterChef kitchen, as the contestants are asked to prepare a two-course menu of their own design in just one hour. At the end of this test one of them is sent home.
