The Copperhead
Officers Foley and Burdick become an airborne: surveillance team when a veteran police sergeant is suspected of selling guns confiscated by the department. In "Copperhead," a gun taken from a robbery suspect is found to be a rare Wexurn Copperhead, that supposedly was disposed of in the ocean after being confiscated months earlier in a police operation. The man who supervised that operalion was Sergeant Lew Simons, who is nearing his retirement. With Simons under suspicion, Officers Foley and Burdick are assigned to patrol over a harbor district where peculiar activities have been reported.

In an unfolding drama that reads like a suspense thriller, Mitch's wife, the helicopter mechanic, has been taken hostage by a ruthless band of assassins determined to manipulate fate and secure an advantage in the high-stakes race for state governor.
