City Life to Country Life - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Somerset
The series begins with Ian, who left his career as a builder, and former teacher Sarah, who decided to start a goat farm from scratch at the foot of the Mendip Hills. Their new life allows them to spend more time together with their two sons, as well as indulge in their creative passions.

Scotland
A profile of the McWhinneys, whose Scottish island has been their ancestral home since the 15th century. The lively family of five are the only occupants of Dry Isle - a tidal island, connected to the land by a floating footbridge. Their ancestors owned and worked from this island for centuries. To keep up with the demands of modern life, dad Ian and mum Jess have had to diversify and make the most of the landscape around them.

Scilly Isles
Graham and Ruth are living a dream life with their three children on the beautiful island of Bryher in the Scilly Isles - 50 km off Cornwall. With turquoise waters at their doorstep and some of the most picturesque scenery around, cameras follow the family as they run a 40-acre farm, providing the island with much of its produce.

Wales
Cameras focus on Fran and Kevin Blockley, who live on Old Chapel farm in Wales, alongside their children and a collection of volunteers who come to live and work there throughout the year. They endeavour to live close to the land - growing their food, tending livestock, practising ancient crafts, living together and celebrating the seasons in their passing.
