Lina
Lina is a hard-saving prostitute who won't say why she tried to bump off her lover. Neither he will. Lina shoots her lover Guy Anquetil while he is waiting on an underground station with his glrliend Paulette Havelot. The shot merely wounds Guy, but Lisa's second aim kills Paulette as she rushes to his aid. When Lina is brought to trial for Paulette's murder, Maitre Savel defending her, is puzzled by the silence of his client. If she won't justify her actions then he must.

The enigmas of the Church intrude into the logic of the courtroom when Daniel, a monk, is accused of murdering his sister-in-law, with whom he had once been in love. Prosecutor Lacan is puzzled by the apparent conspiracy of silence among his fellow monks.
