Pilot
Trevor---who believes he's Cupid, the Roman god of love---is released from a three-month stint in a mental institution on condition that he attends a therapy group led by psychiatrist Claire McCrae. He picks up with the same case that put him in the lockup: connecting a street musician with his true love, whom he briefly met in a Dublin pub.
Live and Let Spy
As Cupid, Trevor thinks that the tribunals at Mt. Olympus might be right about his failing instincts, since he's been having little success in his matchmaking efforts. He tries again when he senses a potential match between Claire's friend, Riley, and Mick, a private investigator who took photos of her with a married man. The new relationship starts to go awry and Claire must walk the line between therapist and friend, as Riley has decided to try Trevor's method of jumping into love feet first. Meanwhile, as Felix plans his parents' 40th wedding anniversary party, he becomes smitten with the divorced mother of Lita's new boyfriend, causing strife between the siblings.
The Great Right Hope
Marshall, a sweet but bullied teenager, turns to Trevor to fix up his left-wing mom, Hallie, with his boxing instructor, Clint, the sperm donor who made Marshall's birth possible. They are compatible in every way until Hallie discovers that Clint is a Republican and she breaks off their promising romance. Meanwhile, Claire's free-spirited mother, Liv, a woman with a lust for love like Trevor's, moves in with Claire after yet another breakup with her latest boyfriend.
The Tommy Brown Affair
After Claire's apartment is broken into, Trevor realizes that locksmith and ex-jewel thief Tommy Brown is in love with Paula, his parole officer. Trevor tries to get them together, but Paula doesn't believe criminals can change. When a museum is robbed of its diamonds, all suspicions turn to Tommy and seem to validate Paula's theory. Meanwhile, since the apartment robbery, Claire finds herself relying more on Trevor, blurring the boundary between doctor and patient; and Trevor opens up more about his past, including his relationship with his parents, Venus and Mars.
Shipping Out
Trevor accidentally finds a stack of love letters from Joe, a young soldier and one of Claire's patients, written from Iraq to Robin "Peaches" Peachtree, his unrequited high school love. Trevor wants to reunite them and, as part of his plan, convinces Claire to organize a Mardi Gras-themed party for her singles group. Trevor flies in Peaches, a Cajun caterer, from Louisiana to provide the party food. When Claire realizes what Trevor is doing, she tells him that he's setting the couple up for failure, since she knows a secret about Joe as to why he shouldn't be with Peaches. Meanwhile, Claire faces her own fear of "fast-dancing" in public at a high school dance Trevor has set up for Joe and Peaches' first date.
Left of the Dial
Trevor aims his Cupid love arrow toward Jack, a radio disc jockey with a love for classic rock n' roll, and one of his listeners, a single mom named Sarah. On the couple's first date, Jack and Trevor arrange a performance by Robert Harrison, the lead singer from the indie band Future Clouds and Radar. All is going well until Jack unintentionally disappoints Sarah's 13-year-old son, Adam; and Sarah discovers a secret about Jack. Also, Claire becomes smitten with a handsome statistician who is helping her create a test that matches people up based on their commonality -- a concept she readily embraces.
My Fair Masseuse
The Season 1 finale finds Claire hiring a dialect expert to glean information about Trevor from his speech patterns. Trevor, in turn, uses the man to help refine a Queens masseuse so that she's a better match for her sophisticated beau. Meanwhile, Lita and Felix discover a long-overdue library book in Trevor's room that may provide a clue about his identity.
