On Mom and Dad's anniversary, they ask Catherine to babysit Randy. While Mom and Dad are gone, Catherine invites some friends over for a party. Accidentally, a vase is broken. This vase happens to be Dad's anniversary gift to Mom. Randy feels responsible and runs out of the house. After spending a few hours outside, he meets Mary at a bus stop. Mary says she ran away from home since her Mom and Dad were always fighting, but that they would come looking for her. When they don't turn up, Randy sees Mary crying for the first time. However, Randy's Mom and Dad come looking for him and they tell him that he is their most precious gift. Just then, Mary's parents turn up.
