Prosecutor General Bernd Reuther, Chief Commissioner Kerstin Klar and High Commissioner Max Fischer investigate in a mysterious murder case in the country. Thomas Dittmann is found murdered in a field near Wiesbaden. During his investigation, Bernd Reuther learns that Dittmann was the most important farmer in the area. And almost everyone in the village would have had a reason to kill the despot. For example, Dittmann's ex-girlfriend Saskia Loos, who apparently deprived the victim of her family property. Thomas Dittmann's old friends, Jens Ruff and Rudi Manske, also appear suspicious. They have now returned to their old homeland and are said to have argued with the victim on the evening of the crime. Reuther recognizes that the reason for the friends' argument seems to be in the past.
Did Ruff and Manske murder their childhood friend out of revenge? The murder weapon finally leads Reuther to another important piece of the mosaic in this tricky case: strangers shot Klaus Brandes, the innkeeper of the place, years ago and seriously injured him. Was Thomas Dittmann involved in this incident at the time and therefore had to pay with his life? Carmen Brandes, who runs the inn with her husband Klaus and son Gerold, is shocked. Reuther is certain that the revenge motif is somehow correct in this case. But how does Ilse Dittmann, the victim's mother, fit into the picture? Why has she behaved so strangely since her son's death and even tries to destroy evidence?

The brutal murder of Holger Ahrens is being brought up by Chief Prosecutor Bernd Reuther, Chief Commissioner Kerstin Klar and High Commissioner Max Fischer. Why did the popular craftsman die? Holger Ahrens, the good soul in the village, is killed in an electric shock during renovation work. Not an accident, but a targeted murder. The trail leads Reuther to Matthias Falk and Axel Tennberg, two competitors of the craftsman. Did you murder Ahrens? Investigators find that the victim apparently employed undeclared workers and spoiled the prices. Ahrens is also accused of being responsible for the death of a little boy.
Could the parents Niko and Birte Tennberg have taken revenge on him now? Or did Valentin Guga, the victim's closest colleague, murder to finally make the big money himself? When this employee becomes the victim of another attack, Reuther realizes that it has to be more than just the victim's work. Maybe everything is related to the crime scene? Ahrens and Guga recently renovated Angelika Lorenz's house. Do the homeowner and her daughter Daniela Falk have anything to hide?

Konrad Braach is found murdered in the pond of family management. Prosecutor General Bernd Reuther realizes that the family dynasty apparently has its own rules of the game. Was Konrad the heir to the throne killed by his brother Henry in the dispute over his father's successor? When Viktor Lukov, the patriarch's driver, gives Henry an alibi, Reuther realizes: Gernot Braach himself stirs up the competition for his successor. The seriously ill entrepreneur soon became the focus of the investigation when Chief Commissioner Kerstin Klar and High Commissioner Max Fischer discovered that the victim had secretly worked for competitor Sophia von Stern.
Janine Braach, Gernot's widow and mother of little Wilhelm, and Elli Braach, the dead's sister, were shocked when the patriarch suddenly confessed to the murder, but eludes the judiciary for medical reasons. Reuther is convinced that Gernot Braach himself would never have been able to commit the brutal murder. What is really behind Konrad Braach's violent death? Reuther must remain persistent to uncover the truth.

Tom Perscha is found dead in the generator room of his IT company. Prosecutor General Reuther recognizes that many people from Perscha's environment had a motive for the crime. After the murder of company boss Tom Perscha, Sandra Ohlig, the victim's co-boss and wife, was suspected of trying to destroy explosive documents. She also led the emergency power test, in which Perscha, tied to a generator, died. But the timing of the emergency power test was no secret in the company, and soon Reuther learns, Chief Commissioner Kerstin Klar and Commissioner Max Fischer said that the company boss, who had since been murdered, apparently treated his employees badly. The young employee Jenny Messner was particularly insulted the night before the crime.
Did she take revenge on her boss for this? Or may Jenny Messner work with internet activist Rolf Brackner, who has long targeted the head of the IT company? And what about Eva and Martin Lesch, whose son worked in Perscha's company until his tragic death? Reuther has to go far behind the company's facade to solve Tom Perscha's violent death riddle.

Lars Wagner's violent death in the office of his traditional bakery raises questions. Did rival Karl Reinhardt get the unpopular competitor out of the way? For Reuther there is clearly more to it. The trail leads him into the victim's past. Lars had run the Wagner bakery with his brother Tobias in the second generation, but a dark secret seems to connect them. Her mother was beaten to death before her eyes. Does the current murder case have anything to do with it? And what role does her father Harald play in this matter? With the help of Tamara Runge, the victim's therapist, Reuther recognizes,that the whole family is severely traumatized.
Sibylle Wagner, the victim's widow, is strikingly disturbed, Brother Tobias is buried in his work, and when his son Simon suddenly disappears, the situation escalates. The clarification of this tricky case once again demands Reuther's entire psychological combination.

Frank Droste, emergency doctor and member of the water rescue service, is pulled dead out of the Rhine. Changed with lead belts. All traces of the water are destroyed – except for a striking head injury. Reuther realizes that this supposed hero had no white vest. Chief Commissioner Kerstin Klar, who knew the victim, is particularly close to the case. But she also has to recognize that Frank Droste has apparently made enemies.
Are inconsistencies in the club's finances the cause of the brutal murder? Is there a connection to the water sports business of Dirk Eisfeld, Frank Droste's best friend? The victim had put the accounting errors on his predecessor Micha Hausstedt. Investigators recognize that the victim was under considerable financial pressure. Because Droste had a secret lover in addition to his wife Hanna with Isabell Schuster. Could the ladies experience each other and have cleared the fraudster out of the way? And how did the victim relate to Vanja Resch, Micha Hausstedt's life partner, who has been in a wheelchair since a tragic diving accident? Reuther realizes that Frank Droste got caught up in a murderous network of lies, which he eventually fell victim to.

But his head of government, Dr. Oliver von Heesen differently. Until he can convince Reuther to take over the case, Commissioner Kerstin Klar and Commissioner Max Fischer have already found the well-sent receptionist Tom Derichs, who apparently followed the victim. Did he take revenge on her repeated rejection for Nathalie Kremp? The devastated crime scene continues to puzzles.
