The brutal attack on an inconspicuous software company confronts Chief Prosecutor Bernd Reuther with a dangerous case in the area of organized crime. Jens Schubeck, one of the company's managing directors, was murdered in the raid. For Reuther, Chief Commissioner Kerstin Klar and Commissioner Max Fischer, the question arises as to why Schubeck's business partner Dominik Winder survived the incident. Dominik Winder has also behaved very strangely since the raid, which is not hidden from his wife Tina. Did the two company bosses mess with the wrong people? When Reuther feels that Alexander Gruber and his mother Miriam Gruber on the tooth, he notes that Alexander appears to be a member of an elegant business club. Dr. Berthold Lazos and Dr. Christian Weissgerber, with whom the victim was treated, belongs to this club. Not to forget undertaker Ralf Seiler, who takes care of the funeral of Alexander's recently deceased father Hubertus Gruber.

For Dr. Judith Engel's stab wounds indicate an unusual murder weapon. Cornies had returned from a business trip from Russia a few hours before his murder. From Dr. Eberhard Schenk, the victim's lawyer, learns to Reuther that the company was on the brink of bankruptcy a year ago and could only be saved by a capital contribution from private wealth. Neither Eberhard Schenk nor the tacit management consultant Adrian von Baas want to know where Cornies got the necessary equity for this.
The investigation shows that Cornies recently had a violent argument with his assistant Katharina Grundlach. Are you suddenly related to the death of your boss? For Dr. Engel points out all to poisoning. The investigation shows that Odeland has only recently become self-employed.
Does his former employers Lara and Justus von Pöhlhoff have an idea who sought Odeland for life? And what was the violent argument that Odeland is said to have had recently with his former boss? From Nadine Reinisch, the victim's assistant, Reuther learns of a strange burglary in Odeland's office. Is Odeland's death possibly related to the exclusive marketing right for a stately villa owned by the ambitious broker? Birthe and Marlene Balckow, the disputed nieces of the late owner of the property, puzzles Reuther and the commissioners. The investigation also leads to Susanne Dahms, a victim's client, who appears to have received exceptional support from Odeland in her search for accommodation.

Verena Wiegand has an open relationship with her husband Benno Wiegand, who grants her the greatest possible freedom in her love life. The murder of a farmer confronts Chief Prosecutor Reuther, Chief Commissioner Klar and High Commissioner Fischer with a case whose background is far in the past. According to legal doctor Dr. Engel died Jens Tucchner due to the blunt influence of violence. The trail leads from the crime scene to a nearby court community, to which the murder victim apparently belonged. The group is led by court owner Lia Graf. But not only they, but also Usha Patel, Vincent Urban and Marc Menzel pose puzzles for the investigators. How did Jens Tucchner really relate to the rest of the court community?
