In the middle of the night, Tom Leroy calls the emergency services to say that he has had a road accident and that his wife is stuck in the fiery wreck. When emergency services arrive, his wife is already dead.

Tom and Linda try to get a new loan to save Linda's tanning salon, but the loan is refused and the bank threatens to seize their house if they do not repay soon.
Épisode 3
A few days before the accident, Linda has thought everything through and has a plan to get out of trouble.
Épisode 4
The day after Linda's funeral, Tom discovers that Pierrot, a drug addict, has reported a suspicious disappearance at his police station.
Épisode 5
The noose tightens around Tom; Cathy, an insurance broker, and Stéphane, a policeman, trace the trail taken by Philippe.
Épisode 6
After being placed in police custody, Tom is interrogated by the French gendarmes. In particular by Roger, the major of the gendarmerie, who has defended him from the start.
