'Uno de vosotros mató a Carol', eso es lo que les ha dicho el hombre misterioso a Marcos y sus amigos. Se resisten a creer lo que les dice ese desconocido pero, en el fondo, ha sembrado la duda en el corazón del grupo. Ha dado datos que sólo ellos podían conocer cómo dónde estaba enterrada la joven. Además, asegura tener todas las pruebas necesarias para demostrar que lo que dice es cierto. En unas horas les dirá quién de ellos es el asesino. Marcos se siente incapaz de seguir esperando, necesita respuestas. Baja a hablar con el hombre misterioso y éste le explica cuál es su verdadero plan: les ha citado a todos por la noche para contarles quién mató a Carol, pero el asesino bajará antes para matarle. Así se delatará. En los pasadizos todos trabajan a destajo. Rebeca, recuperándose aún de su herida en la pierna, debería descansar pero su relevo no ha aparecido, ni siquiera ha avisado de que no podía bajar. Comprenderán lo que realmente ha ocurrido al encontrar un cadáver enterrado bajo una pila de rocas. Aunque en un principio todo parece apuntar a un derrumbe, Alicia observa detalles que no encajan. La conclusión es clara: no ha sido un accidente sino un asesinato. Sólo quedan ocho ampollas de medicina. No hay suficientes ni siquiera para suministrársela a los más pequeños. A los niños les darán dosis rebajadas aunque tendrán que hacerlo de forma que Curro no se dé cuenta. Todos saben bien que está esperando el momento para amotinarse. Para el resto de enfermos no queda nada. En 48 horas comenzarán a morir y parece que el primero en hacerlo será Fermín. Ya está muy grave porque la dosis anterior tampoco la tomó. También Iván está empeorando a marchas forzadas y sus olvidos siguen atormentándole. Gracias a Lucas, Alicia descubre que Martín es inocente. El niño escuchó desde el armario donde se escondía cómo alguien entraba en la habitación antes que su padre. No pudo ver quién fue, pero sí que había puesto bajo la cama una caja de medicinas la que luego utilizarían como prueba para inculpar a Martín.
