Ahora que Elsa y Héctor han asumido su futura paternidad, es hora de asegurarse de que todo marcha bien. De comprobarlo va a encargarse el Doctor Martín, el mismo médico que asistió a la madre de Elsa en el parto. Pero las sorpresas no han hecho más que empezar se oyen dos latidos durante la ecografía, Elsa está embarazada de gemelos. La noticia será para Jacinta como un jarro de agua fría. Llega el puente y todos los niños del internado aprovecharán para marcharse con sus padres. Todos menos Paula, muy triste porque no tiene a quien visitar y Marcos, obsesionado por comprender qué hacía una fotografía de su hermana en la caja fuerte de Alfonso. Tampoco Carolina está demasiado contenta, su madre, una vez más, está demasiado ocupada y ha anulado los planes para el puente. A Iván no le hace ninguna gracia que Carol y Marcos se queden solos en el internado durante las fiestas. Julia no ha vuelto al internado desde que se marchó la noche anterior con su padrastro. Elsa está doblemente inquieta por una parte, es una alumna y es responsabilidad suya como directora. Por otra, si alguien se entera de que permitió a Julia salir de La Laguna Negra creerán que realmente le dio un bofetón y por eso ha cedido al chantaje de la recién llegada. Para colmo de males la madre de Julia ha llegado por sorpresa al internado con la intención de reconciliarse con su hija.
