The Hammer of God
When an ungodly man is murdered at the unveiling of a new church clock, Father Brown must find the killer before an innocent woman is sent to the gallows.

The Flying Stars
After Colonel Reginald Adams and his actress wife Anne-Marie have forbidden their young daughter Ruby to marry American communist John Van Ert Anne-Marie is found drowned. Inspector Valentine believed she fell in the lake whilst drunk but Father Brown proves it was murder. Learning that the couple argued, Valentine arrests Reginald just as Anne-Marie's long-lost brother James Trewlove arrives from Nairobi. Anne-Marie's will leaves James nothing, with the chief beneficiary being the church whilst Ruby is bequeathed the Flying Stars,a valuable necklace. During a performance of a play at the Adams' house the necklace is stolen. Father Brown manages to unmask both thief and Anner-Marie's killer.

The Wrong Shape
Poet Leonard Quinton invites Father Brown to the house where he lives with his long suffering wife Martha and young mistress Violet as his spiritual adviser Umesh has told him he will soon die and he wants the priest to look after Martha. Shortly after Violet has threatened him for not leaving Martha for her Leonard is found hanged and Umesh, as his sole heir, is arrested. Martha tells Father Brown that she and Leonard had once had a baby, born disfigured, who died and whom they buried in the garden, the event which she believes drove them apart. Martha's admirer Harris then admits to killing Leonard Quinton - though Father Brown knows better.

The Man in the Tree
When Lady Felicia finds a stripped and injured man stuck up a tree, Sid is implicated as the perpetrator. Can Father Brown prove his innocence, or has Sid gone too far this time?

The Eye of Apollo
When the Church of Apollo comes to Kembleford, Susie is drawn to their charismatic leader Kalon. After Kalon's wife is murdered, Father Brown must break his spell over Susie or risk losing her forever.

The Bride of Christ
When two nuns die in mysterious circumstances at St Agnes convent, Father Brown investigates with the aid of Sister Boniface, an eager young fan of detective novels.

The Devil's Dust
Father Brown joins the search when a girl who is believed to be radioactive goes missing overnight. But just who is responsible for her disappearance?

The Face of Death
After a murder at the Kembleford charity treasure hunt, general suspicion falls upon a bereaved man who wants revenge. However, Father Brown is determined to prove the man's innocence.

The Mayor and the Magician
When the mayor drops dead during his speech at the Kembleford village fete, Father Brown deduces that he was deliberately electrocuted. Meanwhile, Mrs McCarthy's past comes back to haunt her.

Before joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed The Colbert Report, which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one-third of the time. Good luck, Bill!
