In this episode, Donnie investigates the extreme flooding experienced across Scotland and discovers what measures Perth has put in place to tame the River Tay. Later he joins long-distance lorry driver Murdo John Mackay as he crosses Scotland in all weathers, and shares memories of dreadful blizzard conditions on Arran. It's CalMac handyman Alasdair MacIver's last day after 28 years on the job, and Donnie is with him as he says farewell to a life at sea. Over in South Uist, SSEN engineers Neil MacCormick and Matthew MacDonald are making a special delivery. When the power goes down kidney transplant patient Tam relies on a generator to keep him alive, and so the boys make sure he has one installed before the worst of the weather hits.
