Orthopaedic surgeon Malik plans to give 25-year-old Louisa a replacement ankle and endovascular surgeon Craig performs life-saving surgery on 79-year-old John's aneurysm. Midwife Titi delivers baby Blake two weeks early.

Episode 2
This time, heart surgeon Asif performs valve replacement surgery on 13-year-old Seb, while hospital chaplain Katie trains up a new staff welfare dog called Fern. Elsewhere, specialist nurse Sean removes a painful kidney stone from a rugby player.

Episode 3
Endovascular surgeon Craig temporarily `switches off" a patient's brain and housekeeper Pauline has a secret weapon to deal with the heat on the hottest day of the year. Trauma surgeon Steve creates a metal frame to save a patient's leg.

Episode 4
Neurosurgeon Akbar inserts wires into Michael's brain to try to cure his tremors. Midwife Titi helps a patient who has elected to have a C-section due to her rare medical condition and endovascular surgeon Craig operates on a 52-year-old woman who has had a stroke.

Episode 5
Singer Susan prepares for brain surgery that will hopefully prevent her losing her hearing. Peter operates on a three-month-old baby born with a cleft palate and lip. Surgeons Tom and Lucy work together to remove Katherine's carcinoma, reconstruct her eye area and get her home by the end of the day.

Episode 6
Claire the neurosurgeon operates on Jen who has spina bifida which is tangling the nerves in her spinal column. Consultant John tries to save a patient's liver by removing a broken stent with an endoscope and the self-named Cervix Sisters, Jill and Jilly, set out on a mission to encourage more women to sign up for cervical screening.
