First off, a boat trip to the stunning Maddalena Island off Sardinia's northern coast. It was here in the early 1800's that Admiral Nelson set up a naval base to fight Napoleon. The family head to the beach for lunch where they cook up arragosta alla Catalana using some of the area's finest lobster.
Back on the mainland, Gino wants everything to be perfect for their summertime festive feast. At Villa D'Acampo he gets his sons, Luciano and Rocco, digging a pit in the sweltering heat to roast a suckling pig, Sardinia's answer to turkey.
