Season 3 / Year 2009

Episodes

Day 1
Hazel Irvine presents coverage of the opening round of the Women's British Open from Royal Lytham and St Annes on the Lancashire coast.
Swedish superstar Annika Sorenstam may have now retired but there is another Swede who has emerged from her shadows and could be the player to watch. Twenty two-year-old Anna Nordqvist won her first major, the LPGA Championship, in only her fifth start as a professional.
South Korean Jiyai Shin is the defending champion, she shot a 66 during her opening round at Sunningdale in 2008 to immediately put herself into contention; she ended the day just one shot off the lead held by American Juli Inkster.

Day 2
Hazel Irvine introduces continued coverage of the 33rd Women's British Open from Royal Lytham and St Annes.
American Cristie Kerr shot the best round of the second day in 2008 with a fine round of 65, three shots better than any other player. Swirling winds made conditions tricky, but Asian duo Yuri Fudoh of Japan and Jiyai Shin of South Korea improved their scores to share the lead at halfway, both ten-under-par. The biggest cheer of the day was left for 2003 winner Annika Sorenstam, who made the cut by shooting par for the second successive day.

Day 3
Hazel Irvine presents coverage of the third round of the Women's British Open from Royal Lytham and St Annes. Those still in contention will be hoping to make a charge ahead of the final round. At this stage last year, Japanese golfer Yuri Fudoh coped best with the wind at Sunningdale to take the outright lead by the end of the day.

Day 4
Hazel Irvine hosts coverage as the 33rd Women's British Open from Royal Lytham and St Annes reaches its conclusion.
Ji-Yai Shin claimed victory last year with a stunning final round of 66 - the 21-year-old Korean has gone from strength to strength since then and will hope to be in contention to successfully defend her title. However, with 2003 winner Annika Sorenstam now retired and Sherri Steinhauer, champion in 1998 and 2006, having not played for over six months, there is every chance Royal Lytham will crown a new champion.
