Gullungene (2011)
In the midst of the debate about late Norwegian children, tiger mothers and curling parents, the reality series "Gullungene" comes sailing like a very well-played curling stone.
TVNorge has gathered six young people between the ages of 18 and 25, apparently according to the criterion of "the country's most undesirable youth". They expect their parents to do absolutely everything for them, without even contributing to it.
In the series, the gang moves together in a community they themselves have to work in a practical and economical way, and in each program, they get different job assignments to complete to make money for the household.
Not quite unexpectedly, this quickly presents challenges. Not to mention problems. Shopping for food on a tight budget is not easy when some people are allergic to cheap brands.
After still having bought low-cost tacomiks and had to choose between lager or bedding, the traumatic experience is summed up as follows: "It must be quite damn to be poor. Now we really got to know it".

Malory Towers
Based on the hugely popular book series of the same name by Enid Blyton, Malory Towers is a live-action series following 12-year-old Darrell Rivers as she leaves home for the first time to attend an all-girls' boarding school. Set in the 1940s on the sun-drenched cliffs of the Cornish coast, Malory Towers explores this nostalgic world of midnight feasts, lacrosse, pranks, and lasting friendships. For a contemporary audience, the show is both aspirational and inspirational, telling the story of universal experiences include shifting cliques, FOMO, bullying, crushes, peer pressure, and self-doubt. The girls keep an eye on each other and, like a family, are forever connected by their shared experiences.

EastEnders
Set in the East End of London, the show focuses on the tensions between love and family with stories ranging from hard-hitting social issues, to personal, human tragedies. And there's plenty of funny moments too.
Classic characters old and new across thousands of episodes have shared a drink in The Queen Vic, shed tears of despair or joy, sat on Arthur's bench in the Square... and at some point or other they probably crossed paths with Ian Beale.
