Hard Men: Street Justice - Season 1
Season 1
Episodes
Episode 1
The series begins by looking at how modern-day gangsters have emerged from the shadows of previous generations in Birmingham. The programme hears from two men - one a former gangster, the other an ex-criminal - who claim their actions have helped shape the modern underworld.
Episode 2
Former detective Rod Carter reveals how a spate of more than 50 murders have emerged from a gang rivalry in Manchester that began over a borrowed leather jacket, exploring the tiny area of the city that has played host to many of the deaths. Former gang leader Matthew Norford explains how a fight over territory led to him being shot, while ex-enforcer Cody Lachey talks about how many drug gangs worked hand-in-hand with door staff to maximise their profits.
Episode 3
The programme finds out how the narcotics trade put Liverpool on the criminal map, and meets a man who made - and lost - his fortune there. Another man reveals how he was one of the first to rob other criminals of their ill-gotten gains, and used his propensity for violence to make sure he always got the upper hand.
