Meanwhile, Jael de Pardo and Devin Marble journey into the swamps of Georgia on the trail of an ancient soul-sucking entity known as the Skinstealer. This demon is believed to prey on sleeping victims, crouching over their bodies and sucking the life force out of them like a vampire sucks blood. The team then heads out to rural Montana on the search for a ferocious cryptid predator that has been stalking the prairies for centuries. The Shunka Warakin is named in the native tongue as a "carrier of dogs" due to its ability to hunt and drag away the livestock of the area. Described as a fast, giant wolf-like creature, Jael and Devin have to exercise caution as they track the beast on its own territory.
