Richard en Aadje
Richard van der Pluijm (43) en Aadje van den Ende (45) zijn naar eigen zeggen het leukste homostel van Nederland. Samen met hun pitbull Joey en buldog Charles wonen ze in Naaldwijk. Maar niet voor lang meer...Ze verruilen hun arbeiderswoning van 100 m2 voor een riante villa van 1000m2 in de Spaanse badplaats Calpe. Hier willen ze een Bed & Breakfast starten geheel in de stijl van Versailles.
Familie Mensing
Jean Paul (51) en Rosalie (33) Mensing eten het liefst elke dag pizza of pasta en Italië is hun jaarlijkse vakantiebestemming. Ze zijn dol op de Italiaanse atmosfeer en mentaliteit. De blijdschap is dan ook groot als ze samen met hun kinderen Aras (8) en Isabella (2) naar Umbrië vertrekken. Hier hebben ze een vervallen pand met een flink stuk grond gekocht. In drie maanden willen ze vier appartementen opknappen en een glamping bouwen.
Ronald en Janine
Na een zonovergoten vakantie op Kreta komen Ronald Jongema (50) en Janine Bosman (47) tot de conclusie dat ze niet blij zijn met het leven dat ze tot dan toe leiden. Janine hopt van baan naar baan, maar zit nergens echt op haar plek. Ronald werkt ruim tien jaar als serviceadviseur voor een groot automerk en vindt het welletjes. Ze zeggen hun baan op en vertrekken naar Frankrijk.
Follow up Brigitte en Laurens
Voor het eerst in de Ik Vertrek-geschiedenis volgen we mensen die maar liefst drie keer emigreren, naar drie verschillende landen. Na een mislukt avontuur in Frankrijk, treffen we de twee in Duitsland. Hoewel ze daar een charmant plekje tussen de koeien hebben, is dit ook niet hun eindbestemming.
Emmy en Rutger
Emmy wil al haar hele leven in een kasteel wonen. In het Franse Douzillac heeft Emmy een chateau gekocht om er een chambres d'hôtes met minicamping te beginnen. Dat haar man Rutger voorlopig niet mee wil verhuizen, staat Emmy's plannen niet in de weg.
