In this new season, Ben continues to develop his railroad line, acquiring boilers, wagons, rights of way... But many obstacles will once again stand in his way: between farmers unhappy that the railroad is frightening the cattle, bandits who try to steal the pay or gold carried by the train, outlaws who infiltrate the train, the transportation of a prisoner who must stand trial for murder, and finally the hijacking of the train, Ben will have his work cut out for him!

Though this action aggravates his son's wound, the elder Wyatt plans to kill Barnabas if Frank dies, even over Frank's objection.

The prisoner also sees an opportunity for escape in a young woman who is being forced into marrying a wealthy man and clearly doesn't want to.
