In this programme, the sisters make their way across the Vatersay causeway to Barra, cycling north with a stop for lunch at Barra airport on Tràigh Mhòr. A ferry ride takes them to Eriskay, where family and friends accompany them home to South Uist. Rain and high winds set in as they cycle through South Uist on machair tracks and corn fields before tackling the steep ascent of Aisgerbheinn. In North Uist, they discover white beaches and catch a glimpse of the Monach Isles before crossing over to the tidal island of Vallay. Episode 3

In the final programme, the girls are in Lewis. Starting at high speed, they take a rib through the sound of Scarp before battling gales and rain as they cycle through the hills of the Uig peninsula. They carry on up the west coast, where the long ascents begin to take their toll on already tired legs. Sunshine greets them at the Callanish stones, and they stop for some sustenance. Their strength restored, they carry on through Lewis, crossing the Barvas Moor to the east coast. Flooded bogs and rough terrain stop them in their tracks, and the girls have to retrace their route back to the west coast before reaching their final destination, the lighthouse at the Butt of Ness.

Wild Cards

Wild Cards follows the unlikely duo of a gruff, sardonic cop and a spirited, clever con woman. Ellis, a demoted detective, has unfortunately spent the last year on the maritime unit, while Max has been living a transient life elaborately scamming everyone she meets. But when Max gets arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Max staying out of jail. The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes. For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.

Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don't love the school district's less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.
