Knife Edge (1981)
Knife Edge is a thriller TV series from Britain's Granada Television network that showcases a suspense story each week. Hosted by TV personality John McCririck, Knife Edge adapts classic thrillers into two-hour dramas, using up-and-coming and veteran actors. The season starts off with a spin-off from William Nolan's suspense novel, Death is for Losers. It stars Reece Dinsdale as a young reporter that tries to escape death, which is lurking around every corner. A young Liam Neeson appears in the second episode, playing Charlie in the thriller, Charlie Was a Rich Man, about a college student (Phil Kernot) who finds an interesting hobby after being assaulted in his own neighborhood. The season ends with a crime thriller adaptation from a Jody McBride novel. In this installment, an older gentleman (Cecil Humphreys) looks for his wife's killer (George Irving) after police ignore his pleas for help. McCririck introduces the author and actors of each dramatization before the start of each episode.
