In this first episode, Chris is released from HMP Leeds after serving over 32 years for murder; convicted shoplifter Gemma returns to sleeping rough on the streets of Swindon; Azhar tries to win back the respect of his family after serving time for burglary; young offender Rhys is met at the prison gates by his long-suffering mother; and, in Cornwall, the local council offer Jason a hotel for his first night of freedom.
Episode 2
In this episode, prolific offender Tracey faces a night on the streets if she can't stay with an old friend. Rhys's past catches up with him as he upsets local drug dealers and goes to court for an assault that he committed while he was in prison. Gemma is desperate to make money while she's on the streets. Azhar fights the temptation to return to a life of crime. And Jason struggles to cope with life after spending so much time behind bars.
Episode 3
Kimberley and Andrew battle alcohol addiction. Gemma, who's homeless, moves to the park for the summer. Jason seeks help for his deteriorating mental health and drug addiction.
