Merete, Joachim, Kasper and Nanna are at the wedding of a mutual friend. Merete feels she receives too little attention from Joachim, and is elated when she meets an old flame. Nanna and Kasper continue their persistent attempts to get pregnant.

Kasper finds out that he cannot have children and tries to find a way to tell Nanna. Merete flirts with her ex on Messenger, while Joachim does everything he can to speed up his career.
What happens in Vegas …
Merete and Nanna go to Oslo to give a lecture, leaving the men behind in Copenhagen. The presentation goes well, but the rest of the trip turns out to be a disaster. Nanna finds it difficult that Kasper cannot have children and drowns her sorrows, while Merete seeks support from her ex.

Joachim is worried about Merete's flirtation, and Kasper is afraid that Nanna is not being honest when she says that it is fine that they cannot have children. It becomes more and more clear to him that she may not want to give up her greatest passion in life.

Nanna and Kasper decide to adopt a child, but the whole process makes them think. The adoption will take several years, and their work situations are not suitable for the adoption process. Merete and Joachim fight for their relationship.

Joachim struggles with guilt after what he has done. He organizes a big 40th birthday party for Merete, but the party makes Joachim feel even worse. Finally, he has concessions to make.
