The Informant
Peter Campbell is very busy tonight. In an hour, you'll see him: Helping rescue a child from a cliff with KONE's helicopter. Getting shot at while covering a holdup. Giving moral support to a crippled cowboy friend. Campbell helps free an innocent murder defendant, even though he himself is jailed for refusing to reveal his news source in the case. His source is a scared woman, an ex-convict who on a confidential basis gives him information that could clear the murder defendant.

The Pawn
Peter becomes embroiled in two news breaking events, both tragic: the theft of a newborn baby and the death of an old friend.He turns criminal investigator when fellow TV reporter is shot.

Roadblock
Campbell and his sidekick cameraman are trapped in the middle of a jailbreak. The reporter gets involved with an escapee from jail who seems like such a nice kid.

The Bank Job
A pair of thugs take over bank and hold 15 hostages as bargaining power in their attempt to air their grievances against society.

The Reporter
Pete, portrayed by Jackie Cooper, investigates claims that an investment company has mismanaged pension funds.

Not by Accident
Pete investigates a claim that a bus accident occurred due to unrepaired faulty brakes, which the driver had previously reported.

Californium 252
This series was permanently switched midseason with "Barbary Coast." In this episode, TV news reporter Peter Campbell becomes the middleman, negotiating with thieves who have stolen a vial of lethal radioactive material, which has already claimed several lives.

The Crusader
Pete learns from an ex-con that a controversial defense attorney is scheduled to be murdered before the day is over.

The Middle Man
Peter Campbell finds himself having to deliver a $500,000 ransom after the distraught parents of a kidnapped boy turn to him for help.

Boxer
A woman contacts the station, believing she spotted her missing daughter in news footage of an ex-con's release. Peter Campbell is assaulted by hoodlums after he refuses to stop his investigation of a cult leader.

The Listening Ear
Anne Francis plays a deranged woman who calls Peter Campbell at the TV station, "confesses" that she has murdered her husband, and plans to kill again. It sets off a frantic search for the woman.

Murder at Fourteen
Pete Campbell turns a lead on a murder of young teen-agers into a campus nightmare tonight when a gang of young toughs figure he's getting too close for comfort.

Libel
Pete is sued for libel after accusing a multimillionaire of having ties to organized crime.
