Season 2
A new character has joined the team. Detective Nina Moreno, played by Lauren Velez, is a young Puerto Rican who was introduced as Eddie's new partner due to J. C. being in the hospital because of his close encounter with death. As she struggles to be a good cop, she also tries to earn respect from Eddie. As for J.C., he is recovering from his wounds caused by his enemy who also killed Sandy. J.C. once again finds himself struggling to put his life back together and dealing with the loss of Sandy, and can only relieve his pain by getting back on the streets. For Eddie, he tries to get his friendship back with a distant J.C., he is fighting his feelings for Nina, and helps his father who is dying of AIDS.

A serial bomber threatens Williams and Torres.
The Finals
Danny Cort returns with an agenda for Williams to lose his job and his best friend and to "smoke [the officer's] little kid."

Moreno poses as a prostitute to track down a serial killer; J.C. wants G to come live with him.

After being freed, a policeman's murderer is killed and the cop's partner is under investigation. Meanwhile, the murderer's girlfriend plots revenge on the gang leader who ordered the officer's death.

Williams and Torres investigate the murder of a free-lance writer. Moreno gets a visit by her missing husband.
Fire Show
Moreno poses as a firefighter in order to find out who's responsible for a female firefighter's death.
Toy Soldiers
Three youths, who were brought from Rwanda to act as mob hit men, are befriended by Father Torres. Moreno gets an inheritance; Williams disagrees with the methods of his son's hockey coach.
Sympathy for the Devil
When three youths are charged with shooting a couple, one of them insists that, while they robbed the couple, someone else fired the gun.
Checkmate
A hit man's widow wants to become a soldier in the mob and poses as a police officer to kill a fellow crook in Williams's and Torres's precinct.

Lt. Cooper sends two patrol officers to infiltrate a group of corrupt cops when neighborhood dealers start disappearing.

Although the stars aren't judged on their voices, they'll still need to give their best performance – the audience's least favourite will be eliminated, before the panel try to guess their identity and unmask them.
