Mathieu's main concern is to save his grandmother from Jacques' clutches. Fortunately, Oliver finds a way to lock her in the cellar. When Mathieu asks his father for an explanation, he explains that he only wanted to protect his mother. He then reveals the family history to him. Jacques is the son of a German, and his mother's head was shaved at the Liberation. He lived his entire childhood in shame. Upset, Mathieu asks his father if he is Philippe's murderer.
