Episode 1
In the first episode, a rescue team in Kerry is called to Carrantuohil, the highest mountain in Ireland, to rescue an American couple who have got lost and are experiencing some of the worst weather Ireland can produce. On the Humber estuary, the Humber Inshore Lifeboat is called to a reported body on the banks of the river.
Episode 2
On Ullswater in the Lake District the Patterdale Mountain Rescue team are called to assist a man who's broken his leg on the far shore of the lake, the second longest lake in the UK. Fortunately the team has a high speed boat and rush to his aid across the water. Go pro cameras capture the moments when he is given first aid and stretchered on to the boat and taken to Glenridding where he is rushed to hospital. Interviews with key team members and stunning aerial footage complement this story.
Episode 3
Members of the Kerry Mountain Rescue team head to Mangerton mountain after receiving a call about an elderly walker in Killarney National Park who has complained of chest pains. On the Humber estuary, a pleasure boat suffers engine failure and Humber rescue team members speed to its aid while it drifts perilously close to some rocks.
Episode 4
On Croagh Patrick in Co Mayo, the Mayo Mountain Rescue Team gears up for the annual religious pilgrimage, where up to 30,000 people set out to reach the summit of the mountain. More than 120 volunteers from other rescue teams, the Order of Malta, Civil Defence and Irish Air Corps assist the many injured pilgrims as they fall, have heart attacks and break ankles. On the Kinder Plateau, the Buxton and Kinder Mountain Rescue teams are called to an injured walker, while in the Lake District, three mountain rescue teams attend an injured ice climber with spinal and head injuries.
Episode 5
Ireland's national champion surfer Gearoid McDaid takes a serious fall in the surf and badly injures his leg, so members of the Irish Tow Surf Rescue Club are asked to pick him up and lead him to safety. The Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is called to a mountain biker who's fallen over the handlebars and torn an artery. His life is in the balance and it is only the quick thinking of a passer-by and the prompt arrival of the rescue team and air ambulance that ensures his survival.
Episode 6
In the Cairngorm mountains in Scotland, a group of handlers and their search and rescue dogs undergo final training in the snowy peaks. Every search and rescue dog will train for up to two years before it is deemed ready to act within mountain rescue teams looking for lost and injured walkers. In the Galtee Mountains of Tipperary, Search and Rescue dog Ziggy is searching for an injured walker somewhere near Galtee mountain, while in the Peak District the Kinder Mountain Rescue Team attends a walker in severe pain with a broken ankle.
Episode 7
A walker on Croagh Patrick Mountain sustains a serious head injury and members of the Mayo Mountain Rescue Team carry him down the mountainside to the Irish Coast Guard helicopter. Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team are called to a climber who has fallen several feet on a rocky outcrop known as Lurchers Crag, while a world-class surfer at Mullaghmore sustains a severe leg injury.
