17th-Century First-Period Renovation
After buying a first-period home sight unseen, restoration and design experts Mike Becker and Charrissa Vitas may have met their match. This neglected and dilapidated relic is straight out of a horror movie with a cramped and narrow layout, low ceilings and hundreds of baby spiders that occupy the web-laden basement. During renovation, they discover hidden gems and unforeseen dangers that include a deadly hidden power line. By creatively repurposing pieces from other parts of the house and tracking down era appropriate finishes, however, Mike and Charrissa restore the home to its original beauty while making it functional for modern homeowners.

For Ellis, that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work; for Max, it means accents, schemes and generally befriending everyone in sight, while driving Ellis absolutely nuts. Against the backdrop of beautiful Vancouver — with all its unique, charming, and even contradictory neighbourhoods and subcultures — the two will have to learn what it means to trust another person and maybe actually become partners.
