Salade Grecque - Season 1
Season 1
Episodes
Épisode 1
Tom's and Mia's grandfather has just died. He's bequeathed them a building in Athens, where Mia is supposed to be studying. Tom joins her to oversee their inheritance and use the proceeds of its sale to launch his start-up company... only to discover that his sister has actually dropped out of school and that her anti-capitalist activities will certainly complicate liquidating their joint bequest.
Épisode 2
Conflicts arise between the "official" rent-paying roommates and the "illegal" squatters who've crashed the building. Tom must sell it quickly. He tells Mia that she and her friends are squatting in the very building their grandfather left them. Uneasy with her new "landlord/heiress" status, Mia doesn't tell her lover Kristos, who runs an NGO aiding refugees. But he'll soon find out the truth.
Épisode 3
A fire has destroyed the NGO headquarters. Tom and Mia take the displaced refugees and migrants into their building. Mia and roommate Noam become close, but Kristos takes that badly. Tom decides not to go back to New York, as planned. So his girlfriend, Lily, comes to Athens to accelerate the sale of the building to finance their start-up. But then they'll have to evict all the occupants.
Épisode 4
In shock from her sexual assault, Mia withdraws emotionally and doesn't tell anyone what's happened to her. Noam is especially baffled by her odd behavior. Tom is depressed to learn that Lily's been dating their partner, Josh. Then Tom and Mia are reinvigorated by the discovery of a skeleton in the family closet... It turns out that Grandad once had an illegitimate child with his Greek mistress!
Épisode 5
Mia and Tom return to France to spend Christmas with the family. But the holiday dinner quickly degenerates into a settling of scores. Upset by Lily's betrayal, Tom blurts out the fact that they have an illegitimate uncle hidden away in Greece. Mia confesses to Wendy that she's dropped out of school to devote herself to helping migrants and refugees. She then confides in Tom that she's been raped.
Épisode 6
Mia and Tom try to delay the sale of the building claiming there's an archaeological site in the cellar. Tom takes Reem to Leros to find her refugee mother, whose boat was lost at sea. Noam invites Mia to a techno festival in Milos, where they confess their mutual love. Once everyone's back to Athens, the building residents throw a roof party... and one of them accidentally plummets into the void.
Épisode 7
On the heels of that fatal accident, the roommates' top floor apartment must be evacuated. The squatters take them in. Mia is totally devastated. She isn't even allowed to attend Noam's funeral; his family rejects anything related to his new life. Tom worries about his sister, trying to come up with a way for her to process her grief. He is very troubled by his attraction to Reem.
Épisode 8
The roommates have just a few months left before being evicted. Discovering that she's not the only woman Kristos has aggressed, Mia decides to speak out, releasing an online video. The NGO moves to a new location. The roommates plan to return to their respective countries. Mia resolves to make a fresh start. Reem tries to disclose her feelings to Tom before he leaves for Hong Kong...
