Toyotaka Yoshida (Alan Shirahama), a novelist who made a hit with his debut work 'Blank Method', but then didn't make a living with a family restaurant's part-time job. He brought a new novel to a publishing company and was treated ill-mannered, and was ridiculed as a 'former novelist teacher' at his part-time job.
On the other hand, Shuntaro Koyanagi (Yu Koyanagi) is an employee of a major publishing company, Kagura. He was assigned to the literature club from sales as a long-cherished desire. However, he is confronted with the reality of the publishing industry, saying, 'Literature is a muddy ship, novels can no longer be sold.' Shuntaro is told by the editor-in-chief, Sakakida (Zen Kajihara), to attend a meeting with the great writer Mitsunori Uchiyama (Tokuma Nishioka) on the first day of his assignment. When asked by Uchiyama what kind of book he wants to make, Shuntaro replies, 'I want to work with a writer named Toyotaka Yoshida.' When I heard the name, Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) of the literary bar 'Kelly' stopped unexpectedly.
To Shuntaro, who joined a publishing company to write a novel with Toyotaka Yoshida, but didn't even know where he was, Uchiyama said, 'If you really want to write a novel, find out Toyotataka Yoshida and bring him here right now.' I say an unreasonable problem. Shuntaro searches for Toyotaka's whereabouts by doing everything he can think of. However, Toyotaka completely lost his confidence and was desperate, saying, 'I'm quitting the novelist.'
Jealousy
Toyotaka Yoshida (Alan Shirahama), a novelist who can't sell, and Shuntaro Koyanagi (Yu Koyanagi), a classmate in elementary school who works for a publishing company, reunited for the first time in 19 years. I decide to make a novel. However, it was Mitsunori Uchiyama (Tokuma Nishioka), a great writer, who stood in front of it. Uchiyama, who was once a judge when Toyotaka's maiden work 'Blank Method' won the rookie award, urges Toyotaka to 'quit the novel.' Toyotaka was willing to quit the novel, but he screamed, thinking, 'I will definitely write the best novel in Japan that will admit you.'
Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) of the literary bar 'Kelly', who was saved by Toyotaka's novel a long time ago, also said that she would support Toyotaka to write a new work. On the other hand, Shuntaro, who gives priority only to Toyotaka and does not care for his family, had a jerky relationship with his wife, Misaki (Yuriko Ono), about the son of an elementary school student.
However, when Shuntaro proposed a new serialization project for Toyotaka, the editor-in-chief, Sakakida (Zen Kajihara), did not deal with it at all. And because of that, the relationship between Toyotaka and Shuntaro also cracked ...
Determination
Toyotaka Yoshida (Alan Shirahama) and Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) who spent the night together. Haruko takes an unexpected attitude to Toyotaka, who says, 'I don't want to make a lover because it interferes with writing.' She is rather worried about Haruko, who is different from other women.
On the other hand, the editor Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi) is called by the great writer Uchiyama (Tokuma Nishioka). Uchiyama says that if he competes on the same theme as Toyotaka, he can write a new series in 'Novel God.' However, if Toyotaka couldn't write it, it would be a condition to really quit the novel this time. To do so, we must find a theme that Toyotaka can be serious about. Shuntaro tries to find out the theme from Toyotaka's past works.
At that time, I met a dubious man (Kazuyuki Matsuzawa) who came to Toyotaka for money ...
Dad and Son
Toyotaka (Alan Shirahama) and Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi) have a unique opportunity to serialize in 'Novel God'. However, there were conditions, and I had to compete on the same theme as Uchiyama (Tokuma Nishioka). Moreover, if that fails, Toyotaka must quit the novel. Shuntaro is convinced that the theme should be 'father' depicted in Toyotaka's debut work, but Toyotaka rejects it. Being abandoned by his father at an early age was a deep wound to Toyotaka and he could not yet face him. However, he also exudes a complicated heart to Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) that it was also the origin of her passion for the novel.
Meanwhile, Toyotaka is consulted by Shuntaro's son, Yu. He says he has to write about 'family' in the composition he presents during class visits, but he can't write about his father and mother who are all fighting. Toyotaka, who doesn't want to go home, invites him to write an essay together. Toyotaka overlapped himself with Yu's appearance as a child ...
Confession
Toyotaka (Alan Shirahama) took on the challenge of Uchiyama (Tokuma Nishioka) and decided to write a serial novel with the theme of 'father'. Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) visited when she heard that Toyotaka was writing in an apartment. Toyotaka involuntarily keeps Haruko on her way home. The moment he tried to hug him, Haruko's phone was called. It was from the popular novelist Ren Sudo. Haruko seemed to be accused by Nonomiya. Toyotaka is jealous of Nonomiya, who seems to have everything he doesn't have. Toyotaka concentrates on her writing with a single heart that does not want to lose to Nonomiya.
On the other hand, Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi) goes to Uchiyama almost every day as an editor in charge. Shuntaro, who easily breaks his promise with his son, shocked his wife, Misaki (Yuriko Ono), though she didn't say it.
Meanwhile, Toyotaka writes the beginning of the novel and presents the manuscript to Haruko, saying, 'I want you to read it first.' However, because of that, Toyotaka and Haruko become exaggerated ...
Friendship
Toyotaka (Alan Shirahama) started writing a new novel. If this didn't work, he said he was prepared to quit the writer and named it 'Epilogue'. However, Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi) told him that something wasn't enough to become the best in Japan, and he rewrote it, but he couldn't find the answer. On the other hand, Shuntaro was in a state where his wife Misaki (Yuriko Ono) left the house with her son and could not live. After hearing about Shuntaro from Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba), Toyotaka goes to see Misaki to persuade him.
Around that time, Shuntaro was told by the editor-in-chief, Sakakida (Zen Kajihara) that the story of Toyotaka's serialization would be blank, and quit the publishing company, thinking of changing jobs to the Internet industry.
Lovers
It has been decided that the publication of 'Novel God', which was supposed to feature the new work 'Epilogue' by Alan Shirahama, will be suspended. Neither Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi) nor the editor-in-chief Sakakida (Zen Kajihara) can do anything. Uchiyama (Tokuma Nishioka), a great writer, scolds these two people as 'I can't allow a young writer to be abandoned.' Shuntaro devises a plan to release 'Epilogue' to the world.
On the other hand, Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) couldn't tell Toyotaka that she was pregnant ...
Secret
Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) was about to leave Toyotaka without telling Toyotaka (Alan Shirahama) that she was pregnant.
Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi) struggled to get a chance to serialize a novel on a popular site, but there were conditions. He wants a recommendation comment from the leading actress Ayano Oga (Rina Aizawa) when Toyoka's hit 'Blank Method' was made into a movie. This is because Ayano and Toyotaka used to be lovers in the past. Instead of giving her recommended comments, Ayano says that the heroine's character in her novel should be rewritten with Toyotaka's current lover as a model.
Family
After rewriting 'Epilogue', Toyotaka (Alan Shirahama) realizes that Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) is an irreplaceable existence for herself. Haruko, who was proposed to Toyotaka, finally confesses that she is pregnant. While Toyotaka is pleased, she tells Haruko that she should meet her father (Kenta Satoi), who is also isolated for her newborn child.
At that time, the story of selling the company was emerging at Kagura. If you don't hurry, the literary club will be abolished, and Toyotaka's 'Epilogue' cannot be made into a book. Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi) and Sakakida (Zen Kajihara) make the final bet ...
Passion
The new work 'Epilogue', which was the last work of Toyotaka (Alan Shirahama), was selected as a candidate for the Naoki Prize, which is the highest peak in the publishing world. He rejoices with Shuntaro (Yu Koyanagi), but the management of Kagura Shrine is finally imminent.
I really want the Naoki Prize to meet the expectations of Editor-in-Chief Sakakida (Zen Kajihara) and Uchiyama (Tokuma Nishioka) who have given me a chance, and my friends who have supported me so far. Haruko (Nanami Sakuraba) of the month makes a proposal to Toyotaka who reveals her heart. She said that if you had a wedding reception on the day of the winner's announcement, it would definitely be a hot topic. However, on the day of the reception, Haruko disappears ...
