Luca Rossi, half-Italian and passionate cook, is returning to his home village of Aschberg after years of traveling the world and refining his culinary art. In Aschberg, his half-brother Pipo and his foster mother Gina run a run-down pizzeria, which they use as a money laundering business for the Calabrian mafia. When a debt collector from the Mafia shows up, Luca is drawn into his family's criminal business. The corrupt mayor Martina Höpke is also interested in the Rossi family, for whom the property on which the pizzeria stands is the last piece of the puzzle in a lucrative investment project. There is also the beautiful village policewoman Tanja, who immediately attracts Lucas's attention.

After Luca accidentally killed Mafiosi Brasi, the Rossi brothers are faced with a new problem: what to do with the corpse? Meanwhile, the jovial mayor Martina Höpke is meeting with Chinese investors in the construction project. She cooks her own soup past the Swabian mafia. Finally, the Rossis pour concrete into the corpse under the terrace. Now all that remains is to dispose of the Mafioso's car. But the policeman and brother of the mayor is on their heels ...

The dead Mafioso's car is safely hidden in Anton's barn. But the Rossis haven't solved the money problem yet. Luca convinces his family to try honestly and to reopen the pizzeria. The Rossis hope for a miracle - and it actually happens. The new opening succeeds and the reputation of Mamma Gina is restored. But the Swabian mafia is not giving up. She exerts pressure and ensures that Anton loses the court. It makes him so desperate that he can no longer see a way out ...

Anton is dead. The news shakes the Rossis. In the course of investigating this death, Tanja notices something suspicious in Anton's barn. She contacts the Italian police. Luca is supposed to translate for her and has to lie. She becomes suspicious of him. At Anton's funeral there is a scandal. Judith slaps Martina Höpke because she blames the mayor and her building project for Anton's death. The Swabian mafia is not unaffected by this scandal. But the mayor brings up even harder guns. And then the Rossis' pizzeria is set on fire.
Kalabrische Ueberraschung
The pizzeria is on fire because the councils set it on fire. Before it is completely destroyed, the fire brigade can put out the fire. The Rossis start cleaning up immediately. But it gets even worse: You are suspected of insurance fraud because the Swabian Mafia hijacked Pipo with fire insurance. When a new mafioso turns up to inquire about Brasi, the debt collector, and the police suddenly find clues about him, things get tight for the Rossis.
Nur die Liebe ist suesser als der Tod
Tanja's suspicions about Luca are confirmed. Sheriff Höpke suspects his sister, the mayor. He's on the trail of his first major case. The new mafioso is cooperating with the mayor and has found out that his brother has probably disappeared here. He prepares everything to get revenge on the Rossis. Then there is a brilliant showdown at the junkyard: Conti threatens the Rossi brothers with a weapon. Tanja intervenes at the last moment and Sheriff Höpke becomes a hero.
