Detective inspector Anita returns to her hometown after 14 years. She's called back to duty, because a body has been found on the shore by Glerársandar.

The appearance of the injured girl changes the investigation of the death of the tourist, but the lack of ambition and mediocre work ethics of the police complicate matters.

Anita makes a serious error while interrogating the girl, the team tries to get their act together before everything falls apart. The widower arrives in Iceland and shines a light on the case that starts to take on a whole new shape.

Gusti interviews Lena and finds out how his colleagues have made a botch of things.
