Fifteen months have passed since the tragedy of Svárta Sand and the shock is still heavy on the townspeople of Glerársand. Especially Anita, as she tries to be there for her newborn daughter and deal with motherhood. When Tómas's grandmother is found, the villagers are once again devastated. A murder a short time later reminds them that evil thrives on silence. An investigation reveals a cover-up of cases that have resulted in broken hearts, violence, neglect and ultimately mass murder. All these cases are related to Anita's family and now threaten to shatter her hope for a normal life.
