Miriam, Doris, Inès and Christiane have been friends since school, but now they have to face the secrets of the past. In the case of the successful public prosecutor and mother of three, Miriam, the secrets put her marriage to Joachim in jeopardy. Doris successfully manages a trucking company, but is overshadowed by her all-ruling mother. Inès was in Paris for many years and is now returning to Zollberg. She also hopes that her son will finally get off drugs. Writer Christiane suffers a terrible loss, but she can count on her friends. In small steps she finds her way back to life, but can she also get closer to her husband? In all of this, the investigations of Commissioner Elfriede Grünberger burst. Together with her colleague Leodolter, she tries to solve a murder that had long been thought to be a suicide. The trust and solidarity of the four friends is put to the test.
